Not using it as a dress but love the product. Go to jacket when I want something simple.
After reading the comments, I was worried about the sizing a bit. I am 5'4 and my waist is between 27-28 and the S fits perfectly. In fact, there's enough room to wear a sweater under it. Wearing it as a dress probably won't be a thing for me (just not my style). But if I was looking for a "snatched" look, the xs might have worked. Overall, just follow the sizing chart. The quality of the pleather is great - Tess really knocked it out of the park with this one.
I am so happy that I ordered this jacket: I have ordered so many (faux) leather jackets in the smallest size (XS) and they were still way too big for my petite size (5’ 4”/163cm). Finally, I have found the perfect jacket that fits perfectly and the quality is absolutely amazing!
I’ve ordered a lot of pieces from BYR & I’ve noticed I can’t really get the sizing right. with this jacket dress, you can tell the quality is there in the vegan leather material, definitely really well made. However, in most pieces BYR runs big, but with every collection released Ive noticed changes a bit. I’m usually an XS (I’m 5’3 120 lbs) in most clothing, but I should have definitely sized up to at least a small. This is tight in the shoulders & back & the arms are almost too snug for comfort. I wouldn’t be able to wear anything underneath.
Just for reference I'm 5'5, 165 lbs., and small chested. I'm typically a size 8 or medium, which is what I ordered. I absolutely love Tess and was very excited to support her by buying one of her pieces. I will say however, that I would not recommend wearing this as a dress unless you have another outfit underneath! The buttons are realistically bound to open at any point in time, especially if you have wider hips and try sitting (the buttons snap in place). I look forward to styling this as a jacket mostly. The sleeves are on the long side too as Neluma R. mentioned in her review. It does not bother me, but it might for some. I can't wait to see what else Tess creates! Tess, if you are reading this I'd love a video on how to integrate staple pieces from your line with "stuff I already have." Much Love!! >3
